We knew hoarding all of our old tech was going to pay off one day! All we needed was for Jodie Turner-Smith to show us how it’s done – with a little (okay, a lot of) help from Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry.
At the Paris premiere of Tron: Ares, Jodie Turner-Smith didn’t just walk the red carpet—she ignited it. The actress arrived in a dazzling, otherworldly, bespoke creation known as the “motherboard” dress from Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture “Schiaparalien” collection.

Designed by Roseberry, the dress is encrusted with Swarovski crystals, recycled computer parts, wires, chipsets, USBs, an old calculator, and even an old-school flip phone. Waste not, right? Roseberry’s marriage of “old world techniques and new world technologies” to create a look that is human plus robot is “totally Schiaparelli.” On Turner-Smith, it shimmered with new energy, making the chaotic hardware feel utterly glamorous.
Of course, you have to give it to Law Roach to take method dressing to this level. Like we always say – one woman’s discarded gadgets are another woman’s galactic treasure. Yeah, we say that.
