RuPaul's breakfast nook featuring a 1970s gold fixture belonging to Yves Saint Laurent

By now, you’ve either heard of or seen the glorious Architectural Digest tour of RuPaul’s phenomenal Beverly Hills home in 2023. As each room was revealed, jaws kept dropping. From the incredible ballroom with its crazy, beautiful disco balls and vintage photography featuring Diana Ross, Grace Jones, Billie Holiday, and more historical icons to RuPaul’s otherworldly drag closet filled with the artist’s beloved colorful costumes and bold accessories fit for a queen.

With oh so many glam-upon-glam (upon glam) moments, blink and you may have missed a piece of fashion designer history. Well, more of a decor piece from one of history’s most prolific fashion designers. You see, in RuPaul’s striking breakfast nook used for dining to game nights, hangs a 1970s gold-leaf light fixture that once belonged to Yves Saint Laurent – made of real gold, of course.

The piece is just one of many outstanding ceiling-to-floor style choices in this room (those Frances Elkins chairs!), but one of our favorites, for sure. And since the fixture is already spoken for, we can still use it as inspiration for hanging some vintage Yves Saint Laurent accessory fixtures on ourselves.
